Chinese Smartphone Ban in India: According to a report, China may get a big setback in the Indian markets. In India, preparations are being made to ban the smartphones of Chinese companies worth less than 12 thousand rupees. The main reason for this is to promote the smartphones of the domestic companies of India.
According to the report, the Indian government can ban and stop selling Chinese companies’ smartphones in India worth less than Rs 12,000. The motive behind this is to promote native smartphone makers.
The Indian government
is looking to help other Indian smartphone makers, including Lava, Micromax, move forward. But due to the abundance of Chinese companies in the Indian smartphone markets, it is not possible to do so. Because of this, the Indian government is preparing to ban Chinese smartphone brands.
Let us tell you that right now the smartphone brands of China dominate the budget segment and Rs 15,000 segment. Some shares in this are also owned by Samsung and some other non-Chinese companies. Bloomberg has reported about this.
Chinese companies like Xiaomi, POCO, Realme will be banned
Bloomberg’s report states that the Indian government wants to advance Indian smartphone makers. If it happens that Xiaomi, Poco, Realme and other Chinese companies may have to bear its big loss.
Chinese companies have dominated the affordable budget smartphone segment for many years. A Counterpoint report states that sales of smartphones under Rs 12,000 accounted for one-third of the total mobile sales in India. This figure is for the June 2022 quarter.
Chinese smartphone companies were also under the radar for tax evasion
It has been told that Chinese smartphone brands made 80 percent of the shipments. The fight between India and Chinese companies has been going on for some time. Many Chinese companies were also under the radar of the Indian government. Last month, action has also been taken against some Chinese companies like Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo in the case of tax evasion.
Recently, ED had frozen Vivo’s bank account in the money laundering case. After which the company had requested that his account should be unfreezed to run business in the country. Let us tell you that at present, the government has not issued any official statement on the news of budget mobile ban of Chinese companies. Earlier, the government has also taken action on Chinese apps.
