Barak-8 Missile

There are 32 cells on IAC Vikrant, which work on Vertical Launching System (VLS). That is, eight cells of four missiles. Of these, 32 Barak-8 missiles will come out. These are surface to air missiles. Which can be fired for attack or defense from half a kilometer to 100 kilometers.

Its weight is 275 KG. The length is 4.5 meters. A warhead of 60 KG can be installed on it. Detonation system is hard to kill. That is, if it falls, the enemy is completely ruined. This missile flies without smoke. Therefore it is not visible in the sky. It moves towards the enemy at a speed of 2469 kilometers per hour.

Otobreda Cannon

Four Otobreda 76 mm dual purpose cannons have been installed on the IAC Vikrant. A canon weighs 7.5 tons. Its barrel has a length of 186 inches. It can be operated with remote control. It is a 76.2 millimeter caliber cannon. Which can attack by rotating its barrel from minus 15 degree to 85 degree angle. It can rotate 360 ​​degrees and fire at enemy aircraft, helicopters, fighter jets or warships. It fires at the rate of 85 rounds per minute on compact mode. Firing at the rate of 120 rounds per minute in super rapid mode. The shells coming out of it move at a speed of 915 meters per second. Its range is from 16 to 20 kilometers.

AK 630 CIWS

Four AK 630 Point Defense System guns have been installed on IAC Vikrant. It is a close-in weapon system. It is a rotary cannon, that is, revolving cannon, which attacks the target wherever it goes. It is an 1800 kg automatic rotary cannon. Its barrel ie hose can be 57 to 64 inches.

Only one man is needed to run it. It can attack the enemy target by rotating at any angle in all four directions. Its firing range is from 4000 rounds per minute to 10 thousand rounds per minute. Its range is from 4000 to 5000 meters. As soon as the target comes in this range, it starts firing itself. A belt is put in it for its bullets. These belts range from 1000 rounds to 4000 rounds.

BrahMos Missile

It is being said that in future BrahMos missile can also be installed in it. The whole world is aware of the power of Brahmos. There are two variants of the BrahMos missile fired from the warship. The first is an anti-ship missile fired from a warship, the second a land-attack missile fired from a warship. Both these missiles are already operational in the Indian Navy.

The BrahMos missile launched from the warship can carry 200KG warheads. This missile has a speed of 4321 km per hour. It has a two stage propulsion system. First solid and second liquid. The second stage is the Ramjet Engine. Which gives it supersonic speed. Also reduces fuel consumption.
