How to Download and Install Windows 11? Step by Step

Microsoft announced Windows 11. Windows users can now upgrade their computers to the stable build of Windows 11. After the announcement that “Windows 10 is going to be the latest version of Windows” – Microsoft strangely appeared with Windows 11. There are some specific system requirements to install Windows 11. However, even without these, the method to install Windows 11 on a computer is provided by Microsoft itself. That is, Windows 11 can be installed on almost any computer.

Windows 11 Installing Rules

Let us find out how to install Windows on Windows 11 supported computer.

Step 1: Using Windows 11 Installation Assistant:

You can upgrade to Windows 11 from the current version of Windows installed on your PC. First Windows 11 Download website and download the Installation Assistant by pressing the Download Now button under Windows 11 Installation Assistant.


After downloading, open Installation Assistant and install Windows 11 as shown on the screen. This is a very simple process.

Step 2: Using DVD or USB (Pen Drive):

To create a boot file for Windows 11 installation on a computer, first Windows 11 download website and create Windows 11 installation media to download the tools required to install Windows 11 using the Download Now button below.


This tool can be used to create a bootable copy of Windows 11 on a blank DVD or USB drive (pen drive). To complete this process, the USB drive will need at least 8 GB of storage.

After creating a bootable USB or DVD using Media Creation Tool as shown on the screen, insert the USB drive or DVD on the computer on which you want to install Windows 11 and restart the device.

Then when the manufacturer’s logo appears on the computer, press the F12 key or the F2 key on the keyboard to enter the boot menu. Note that the rules for accessing the boot menu vary by PC/motherboard company. When the computer is on, enter the boot menu according to the on-screen instructions.

Once the boot menu appears, select the option to boot from the USB drive or DVD (the one you created). Then the Windows 11 Installer will appear. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the Windows 11 install.

Rules for installing Windows 11 on unsupported or older computers:

If you want to check whether your computer will support Windows 11, if you see text like “This PC does not currently meet the Windows 11 system requirements” or “The processor is not currently supported for Windows 11” appears, then Windows 11 should understand. Its standard system requirements are missing on your PC. However, you can still install Windows 11 in a special way.

As I said before, Microsoft does not recommend this approach. Even so, owning one is still out of reach for the average person. And if you install it this way, you might not get security and feature updates of Windows 11 in the future. You may not get some benefits of Windows 11 properly.

You can easily install Windows 11 on unsupported computers by editing the Windows Registry. Let’s learn how to install Windows 11 on an unsupported computer in three steps.

Step 1 – Download Windows 11 ISO


Windows 11 download website , select Windows 11 from the drop down menu under Download Windows 11 Disc Image (ISO) and click the Download button. Then choose the product language and click on Confirm and then click on 64-bit download.

Then the ISO file of 5.1 GB will be downloaded. Since the file is downloading, we have not set the required settings.

Step 2 – Edit the Windows Registry of the Current PC

You need to edit the registry of Windows Setup which is currently provided on your PC and perform the mentioned strategy. To do so, click the Windows Start menu, type regedit, and open Registry Editor. Then Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup enter this address by copy-pasting or navigating to

Step 3 – Setup Windows 11

After downloading the ISO file, right click on the file and select Open with Windows Explorer. You don’t need to create a USB stick or DVD. If you open the Windows 11 ISO file with the help of Windows Explorer, the file will open as a virtual disc. Then open Windows 11 setup file by double clicking and start the installation process.

If the change in Registry Editor is successful, you will receive a warning message instead of a rejection message when you install Windows 11. Then you can easily enter the process of installing Windows 11 by following the instructions displayed on the screen.
