In the Jadon village of Panchayat Kashan, sub-division Gohar of Mandi district, news of 7 people of the same family being buried late in the night due to a hill collapse has come to the fore. Let us inform that all the people have been suppressed due to the debris coming from the mountain behind the house on the pucca house of Khem Singh, the current head of Kashan Panchayat here.
According to the information received from the police, all the family members were sleeping in a deep sleep in Khem Singh’s two-storey house. During this, due to heavy rain late night, the mountain slid and 7 people of the family including the house were caught in its grip.
All kinds of efforts are being made by the villagers to save the family of Khem Singh. The rescue team is yet to reach the spot.
SDM Gohar Raman Sharma told that the rescue team is facing difficulties in reaching the spot. The team had left for the spot at 4 in the morning, but due to the closure of the road, it was difficult to reach the incident site. Every effort is being made to rescue the people trapped under the debris.
At present, in view of the heavy rains, a holiday has been declared in Mandi district on Saturday. It is worth mentioning that many roads have been closed due to heavy landslides at dozens of places in the sub-division.
Officials of Gohar administration are also stuck in the landslide due to road blockage. On the other hand, the JCB machine of the Public Works Department is engaged in opening the roads.
