His full name is Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, but he is known by the name of Bageshwar Dham Maharaj. Those who believe in him also call him by the name of Balaji Maharaj, Bageshwar Maharaj, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri. He was born on 4 July 1996 in Gada of Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh. That is, if we look at the age, then he is only 26 years old.
Those who have known Dhirendra Shastri since childhood, say that he was fickle and stubborn since childhood, he was educated in the government school of the village itself, Dhirendra did his high school and higher secondary studies from the nearby Ganj village.
He was not born in a big family, mother Saroj Shastri used to sell milk and father Ramkripal Garg used to narrate the story of Satyanarayan in the village and the family used to earn from that. Dhirendra Shastri got the atmosphere of telling stories from his childhood.

It is told that behind the temple of Shri Bala Ji Maharaj, there is also the tomb of Dhirendra Krishna Shastri’s grandfather Sethu Lal Garg Sanyasi Baba. It is said that his grandfather was a perfect man. He used to hold divine court in this temple every Tuesday and Saturday and used to know the mind of the people. At that time also people used to apply in the same way.
Dhirendra Shastri himself also used to visit this temple with his grandfather at the age of 9. He learned Ramkatha from him only, that’s why he considers his grandfather as his guru. Like his grandfather, Bageshwar Dham Maharaj also started holding divine court every Tuesday and Saturday. People started applying in this divine court.
